One of the best things about couponing is the ability to get things for free. Many stores will double or even triple coupons, making many items free. And if you’ve followed my tips on CVS or Rite Aid, you know how easy it is to get FREE products by matching coupons with their rewards & incentive programs.
So many people pass by the opportunity to get FREE products just because it’s not a product they normally would use. If you can get it for FREE and you won’t use it, believe me, there are a number of organizations that will gladly take it off your hands!
Besides items you get for free, there are other items that many of us just don’t need. It could be a travel size toothpaste, hotel shampoo, previously read book, a coat that no longer fits. Any item that is new or in great shape could be suitable for donation! Before trashing these items, consider if it is an item that can be donated to be used by someone else.
Please consider donating items you won’t use, don’t need or can do without to some of these organizations:
- SCHOOLS can always use school supplies & little ones often deplete their supply of underwear and clothing (when accidents happen).
- CHURCHES (often support various ministries) can use non-perishable items & toiletries
- HOMELESS/ WOMENS SHELTERS can use toiletries (even sample sizes are great to donate)
- FOOD BANK/ FOOD PANTRIES gladly accept non-perishable food (avoid glass containers)
- ANIMAL SHELTERS can use pet food & supplies, pet coupons, and even old towels
- RED CROSS is one organization that really needs monetary donations.
7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians 9: 7
